IPP Shopping Cart and Site Security Information
Shopping Cart:
You may wonder why no padlock shows up in your task bar/icon tray when you're
checking out using our shopping cart. The reason for that is because
we use a secure shopping cart (Cart32), within our "Frameset"
site ("frameset" means that different pages, aka "frames", make up
an appearance of one single web page). You will notice that if you
start on our home page, that no matter which page you click into
within our site, the URL Address at the top always remains the same
as our home page
http://www.ImportPerformanceParts.net.
The computer task bar only reads the information from URL Address to
determine whether or not to display the secure padlock icon. It
doesn't know enough to read the inside frame (shopping cart page)
and display the padlock for that frame instead.
In order to see the actual URL of any page you click into,
including our secure shopping cart check out pages, you need to
follow these directions:Add any part to the shopping cart by clicking on the cart icon
on one of our product pages.
- Using IE:
RIGHT click on any part of the shopping cart page, and click on
"Properties"
(You should see that the URL Address of this page
is a secure page and it should look like this:
https://shoppingcartsecure.com/cart32.exe/6033780090-AddItem
)
- Using Mozilla Firefox:
RIGHT click on any part of the shopping cart page, and click on
"This Frame" >> "View Frame Info"
(You should see that the URL Address of this page
is a secure page and it should look like this:
https://shoppingcartsecure.com/cart32.exe/6033780090-AddItem
)
- Using Safari (Mac):
Click Control >> Clic >> Open Frame in New WIndow
(You should see that the URL Address of this page
is a secure page and it should look like this: https://shoppingcartsecure.com/cart32.exe/6033780090-AddItem
)
The "https:" in the URL means that the shopping cart frame (web page), is secure
using https protocol.
Additionally, once you are done adding all the parts to your cart that you
want, you can actually copy and past the cart URL (https://shoppingcartsecure.com/cart32.exe/6033780090-AddItem), into
your address bar, hit
enter, and you will see that there is a padlock displaying in
your taskbar letting you know that it is a secure web page.
